In Moscow on December 7th, a gala match took place at the Legends Park open air ice rink between Russia Hockey 1946 and Russia Hockey 2016. The game was dedicated to Russian ice hockey's 70th anniversary.

The RIHF's first vice-president Roman Rotenberg, 1981 Canada Cup winner Irek Gimaev, Olympic champions Andrei Kovalenko and Alexei Kasatonov and world champions Alexei Yashin, Alexei Morozov and more famous ice hockey players all took part. Other athletes, performers, media representatives and Russia Hockey alumni also put their skates on.
