Interviews after playing Sweden at the Channel One Cup

15.12.2016

Russian national team head coach Oleg Znarok:

- Unfortunately, this match didn't go our way. In the first period, we should have scored more than one goal. Later on in the second, we dominated, but didn't shoot enough and ended up conceding a goal off our own player's skate. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough strength for the third period, the team's physical condition isn't great. Our goal has stayed the same - first place. No one made any terrible mistakes today. If we talk about our young players, then even more experienced one commit errors sometimes. We wanted to see how Maxim Osipov performed, Ilya Lyubushkin will play tomorrow.

Russian national team forward Vladimir Tkachyov:

- The opponent's second goal was key. Nevertheless, we still have two games ahead of us, we will analyse this one and move forward. All of our thoughts are focused on victory. All opponents try not to let us score, but today, we made one more mistake than they did. When Sweden scored their first goal, I went to go and block the Swedish player on the crease, and the puck rebounded off my skate.

Russian national team forward Pavel Datsyuk:

- We want to say a huge thank you to our veterans and legends. They have won a large amount of World Championship and Olympic medals, we want to do the same. For me, Valery Kharlamov is one of the country's most legendary players.
