Valery Bragin: "Our wastefulness in front of goal worries me"
Russia U20 head coach Valery Bragin:
- Despite losing, the guys tried to turn the situation around. When it was 0:2, we had odd man rushes, and when the score was 0:3, we failed to make use of clear opportunities. We should have scored. Our wastefulness in front of goal worries me.
- Sweden outshot Russia heavily in the first period.
- They played at a quicker pace. In the opening frame, we had to get used to how they played. Just like in the past few years, Sweden will be one of the tournament's favourites. It was important for our players to feel the level of this competition. We'll work at trainings.
- When will you name your final squad?
- Tomorrow, probably.
Russia U20 forward Kirill Kaprizov:
- Does the score reflect the game?
- Yes, it probably is. The opponents heavily outshot us, they were in our zone for long periods. In the second stanza, we began to play better, but we couldn't use our chances. We're to blame.
- What else didn't work?
- A lot of tactical mistakes were made.
- In three friendly matches, you only scored two goals.
- It worries us. We have been training for a long time, but the tournament hasn't started yet. The friendly matches are in the past, we have to draw conclusions and move on.
