2017 World Junior Championship. Canada U20 - Russia U20
On the 26th of December, the Russian junior national team will begin their 2017 World Junior Championship campaign against hosts Canada.
This morning, our team trained in these following lines:
Goalkeepers: Sukhachyov, Samsonov, Krasotkin.
Reds: Sidorov, Rykov - Polunin, Vorobyov, Kaprizov.
Blues: Zborovsky, Sergachyov - Guryanov, Kvartalnov, Karnaukhov.
Blacks: Dronov, Kudako - Urakov, Belyaev, Trenin.
Whites: Volkov, Voronkov - Yurtaykin, Alexeev, Rubtsov.
At yesterday's work-out, the captain and alternate captains were named: Kirill Kaprizov will lead the team, while Yegor Rykov and Danila Kvartlanov will assist him. Russia had a mixed pre-tournament friendly campaign, beating Denmark 2:1 OT and losing to Sweden 0:4.
The last time that these two teams met in the World Junior Championship was back in the 2015 final, where the Canadians won a 5:4 thriller in Toronto.
