Interviews after beating Latvia in Canada

28.12.2016

Russia U20 head coach Valery Bragin:

- We analysed Latvia's game with the Americans, they have good movement. We played the right way. The decision was taken to change the lines around a little bit, we will continue improving.

We need to find the optimal line combinations. During the closing stages of this match, I asked the guys to make more passes. Overall, I am pleased with the game, we haven't scored so many goals for a long time. I hoped that the players would feel looser for this fixture.

Now, we'll prepare to play the USA. Are they similar to Canada? Yes, but Canada are better.

Russia U20 forward Kirill Kaprizov:

- It's good that we won. For us, in terms of the mood inside the camp, this is a really important victory. We tried to stick to the game plan. At the World Junior Championship, you have to treat every game seriously, any team can beat another. Thanks go to my teammates for giving me great passes for my goals.

Russia U20 goalkeeper Vladislav Sukhachhyov:

- The players made my task a lot easier. They supported me until the end of the match, blocked a lot of shots. We are one big family, everything went our way today. The main thing is that we won.

Russia U20 defenseman Yegor Rykov:

- Latvia are a good team. It's great that we won the match, we managed to score on the powerplay. Over the course of the tournament, we have to continue doing what the coaches want us to.
