World Junior Championship. Russia U20 - Slovakia U20

31.12.2016

On the 31st of December, the under 20 Russian national team will play against Slovakia for the final match of the World Junior Championship group stage.

It's been a mixed tournament for Russia so far, with our team losing to both Canada 3:5 and the USA 2:3. The only win came against Latvia 9:1, a victory which has allowed our team to occupy third place of the group.

Today's game is a straight playoff for third spot, with Slovakia also boasting the one win against the Latvians. They were thrashed by Canada and the USA, leaving them languishing in bottom place. However, a triumph today would take them above Russia on head to head record.

Slovakia's main players to look out for are Boris Sadecky (0+3) and Milos Roman (1+2), who both have three points.

The Russia U20 - Slovakia U20 match will begin at 04:00 Moscow time in Toronto, Canada. Match TV will broadcast live, and you can follow events live on our official Twitter account.
