Alexei Chistyakov: "This team has a future"

Russian women's student national team head coach Alexei Chistyakov:

- After the match, I have no emotions left inside. It was tough, but the girls did a great job, they were committed. If I am honest, I have never seen such refereeing before, we spent half of a period shorthanded. Nevertheless, we killed those penalties and held on to the victory. This win is down to the Russian Ice Hockey Federation's thorough work concerning analysing opponents, they gave us a analytical group who examined all of the opponents in detail. I can say with confidence that this team has a future.

Russian women's student national team forward Olga Sosina:

- Canada played well today, but we won because of our team spirit. Now, before we celebrate, we need to support the men's team. Soon, we will play the final stages of the Russian championship and then we'll prepare for the World Championship.

Russian women's student national team defender Anna Shibanova:

- Our plan was to calmly play our game and not be afraid of the opponents. We knew that we are better. They played rough against Olga Sosina, but that only gave us more motivation. It's nice to win the Universiade again, now we have to try and perform well at the World Championship.
