Sergei Golubovich: "We managed to capitalise on our goalscoring chances"
Russia U18 head coach Sergei Golubovich:
- The score is so big because we managed to capitalise on our goalscoring chances, in stark comparison to yesterday's game. I'm not going to pick any of the players out, they all did a great job.
We had the goal in mind of giving both netminders ice time. Tomorrow, Pavel Kochetkov will play.
Russia U18 defenseman Evgeny Kalabushkin:
- I am pleased that I scored, but I am even more happy that the team won. I had a simple task of scoring into the empty net for my goal, I was set up brilliantly.
After losing to Sweden, we drew the right conclusions and tried to stick to the game plan. I think that tomorrow's match against the USA will be tougher, but we will prepare.
Russia U18 defenseman Semyon Perelyaev:
- Everything went our way in this match. Of course, you can't go mistake free, but nothing bad happened for us. Overall, you could say that I am satisfied with my own performance. My first national team goal? I won the faceoff, had the puck and scored into the empty net. I started to celebrate before it even crossed the line. Hopefully, these positive emotions will continue into tomorrow's game against America.
