Russia won a World Championship medal for the fourth consecutive year!
Dear friends!
The 2017 World Championship has finished in Cologne and Paris. Earning second place in Group A, our players performed well during the group stage. They were just one step away from the final, but they lost to Canada. Such defeats can teach you a lot, it's sport. Nevertheless, despite that loss, the team found energy to win a tough bronze medal match against Finland. This is the fourth consecutive year when Russia leave the World Championship with a medal!
We had a very young team, only the USA had a lower average age. For a lot of the players, it was the first World Championship. This experience will help them in the future. They will defend their country's colours at the upcoming Olympic Games in South Korea.
Thank you to the large amount of Russian fans who supported the team in Cologne. The full stands at the Lanxess Arena and the Russian chants helped the team achieve this result. So many fans watched at home too! Thank you!
