Russia have trained in Cologne before playing Denmark

10.05.2017

In Cologne, the senior Russian national team trained ahead of tomorrow's 2017 World Championship group stage match against Denmark. The players worked out in these following lines:

Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Shestyorkin;

Kiselevich, Gavrikov - Telegin, Andronov, Barabanov;

Provorov, Mironov - Gusev, Namestnikov, Kucherov;

Antipin, Belov - Panarin, Shipachyov, Dadonov;

Naumenkov, Zub - Nichushkin, Tkachyov, Plotnikov, Lyubimov.

Russian national team coach Harijs Vitolins:

- We need to continue playing at our level, however silly penalties have to be erased from matches. It's great that we are scoring lots of goals on the powerplay, but we still have to keep working at our tactics. In the future, we will face serious opponents.

The guys understand each other well. Sergei Mozyakin won't play against Denmark, the doctors said that he needs to miss two training days. Nevertheless, he will begin training lightly tomorrow. Andrei Vasilevskiy will be the starting netminder, our goaltending coach deals with that issue. Chances will come against the Danes, so we need to take advantage of them.

Russian national team forward Alexander Barabanov:

- We walked around the city yesterday, but we all missed the ice. It was an intense training session today. I haven't seen any of Denmark's games, however we will analyse them this evening. Everything will depend on our performance. I like scoring goals, but my line does a lot of dirty work. The main thing is that we help the team.
