Reaction after the senior national team's win against Belarus

Reaction after the senior Russian national team's win against Belarus (3:0) in the second match of the 2022 Liga Stavok St. Petersburg Cup.

Head coach Sergei Zubov:

- We asked our guys to carry on from where they left off in the third period of the previous game. In the opening frame, we took the game to the opponents, competing with speed and aggression. This allowed us to consequently win the match. Nevertheless, Belarus made an improvement in the third period. Overall, it was an evenly matched game in which we made life difficult for ourselves with our penalties. Our goalkeeper was brilliant in the third stanza.

Goalkeeper Dmitry Nikolaev:

- Thank you to Belarus for this match, I enjoyed it. They have a good system of playing ice hockey, it was fun to play against them. As I have already said, I didn't expect there to be any easy games at this tournament. We had to show commitment in the third period to emerge victorious. I'm really happy to be playing for the national team, it's giving me extra motivation ahead of next season.

Forward Yegor Korobkin:

- We achieved this result in the first period. Even though we subsequently took a lot of penalties, I think that we played well. The support inside the stadium was fantastic, we're pleased that we made them happy with our performance. My goal is to win every game, that hasn't changed after the KHL Gagarin Cup playoffs. I tried to help the team win.
