RIHF seminar and Nornickel Cup in Norilsk

Between the 15th and 17th of March, the eighth Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) coaching seminar will take place in Norilsk, before the Nornickel Cup will subsequently take place in the same city from the 18th to the 20th of March.

Both events are being staged within the cooperation agreement shared by the RIHF and Nornickel.

Coaches and referees from Norilsk and Dudinka will participate in the seminar in order to improve their professional skills. Over the course of the seminar, they will focus on the pedagogical training of players, the organisation of the training process during the transition phase and participate in practical sessions on the ice. The lessons have been planned in accordance with the Red Machine National Development Program of which Nornickel is the general partner.


And on March 18, the annual youth tournament Norilsk Nickel Cup starts. Four teams of boys under 13 will take part in it. Two of them, "Zapolyarnik-1" and "Zapolyarnik-2", will represent the local hockey school, two more - "Snow Leopards" and "Yantar" - will come from Moscow. The tournament will be held in a round-robin system, within three gaming days, each team will meet with each. Spectators will follow the course of the tournament in the stands - the parents of young athletes, as well as all hockey fans from Norilsk, admission to the matches is free.

On March 18, the annual Nornickel Cup for male players under the age of 13 will take place with teams named Zapolyarnik-1, Zapolyarnik-2, Snezhnie Barsy (Moscow) and Yantar (Moscow) competing in it. Furthermore, participants of the tournament will visit local museums in order to get to know Norilsk better.

Two days later, on the final day of the tournament, the awards ceremony will be held.
