2022 Olympic Games. Final. Finland - ROC. A statistical look

We take a look at the statistics to emerge from the final of the 2022 Olympic Games between Finland and the ROC men's ice hockey team (2:1):
- Since 1992, our national team has now participated in four Olympic finals. Our players tallied two wins (1992, 2018) and two defeats (1998, 2022) in those games;
- Vyacheslav Voynov made his 17th Olympic appearance. Overall, only Darius Kasparaitis (20) and Sergei Gonchar (24) have competed in more Olympic matches among defensemen than Voynov;
- Furthermore, Voynov is our team's top Olympic scorer among defensemen since 1994 with eight (3+5) points to his name;
- In 71 games for the senior national team, forward Nikita Gusev has dished out 60 assists. This is the least amount of games which a Russian player has required to pick up 60 assists for the national team;
- Nikita Nesterov has now registered 25 (12+13) points for the senior national team. He is the 13th Russian defenseman to achieve this;
- In 20 matches for the senior national team, forward Kirill Semyonov has gained seven (3+4) points.
