ROC train at the Wukesong Sports Centre

14.02.2022
The ROC men's ice hockey team trained ahead of the upcoming quarter-final of the 2022 Olympic Games, which will be staged on February 16 against either Denmark or Latvia.

In the group phase, our players competed at the National Indoor Stadium, but this match will be held at the Wukesong Sports Centre.

Forward Vladimir Tkachyov:

- The ice is roughly the same everywhere. However, it is a bit warmer here. We will get used to the stadium. What did we learn from the match against the Czech Republic? That we can't forget about defence and make so many mistakes. We need to be more careful when playing without possession.

Forward Vadim Shipachyov:

- I need to improve at this tournament, I'm not playing well. I will help out in defence more. We spent a month without matches, so we need to improve with every passing game. Hopefully, things will improve in the next match.

Manager Ilya Kovalchuk:

- Dmitry Voronkov can participate in the quarter-final, he didn't receive a disqualification after he received a 5+20 penalty in our previous game. He can play.
