In the quarter-finals of the 2022 Olympic Games, the ROC women's ice hockey team didn't have enough against Switzerland, conceding a disappointing 2:4 defeat to bow out of the competition in Beijing, China.

Anna Savonina and Fanuza Kadirova scored our two goals, while Anna Shokhina had a marker disallowed when the score was 1:1 as a result of the puck having already exited the field of play.

The winning goal for Switzerland arrived with a little less than three minutes remaining in the third period. ROC goaltender Valeria Merkusheva stopped 33 of the 36 Swiss shots she faced throughout the 60 minutes.
