2022 Olympic Games. Denmark - ROC. A statistical look

We take a look at the statistics to emerge from the 2022 Olympic Games match between Denmark and the ROC men's ice hockey team (0:2):

- This marked the third consecutive match against Denmark for our senior national team in which the opponents failed to score a single goal. The last time when the Danes hit the jackpot against our team was at the 2016 IIHF World Championship in Moscow, Russia;

- Denmark became our team's 15th different Olympic opponent since 1994. Our players have earned at least one victory against all 15 of those teams;

- For the first time since 1968, our team have started the Olympics with two shutout wins on the bounce;

- Starting from 1956, Ivan Fedotov is the first goalkeeper of our team who has not conceded a single goal in both of the opening two Olympic matches;

- Overall, our team have now registered 10 Olympic shutouts in the history of the competition since 1994. Evgeny Nabokov (3), Vasily Koshechkin (2) and Fedotov (2) have earned more clean sheets at the Games than any other goaltenders representing our team.
