Happy New Year!

31.12.2021
Dear friends!
I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year!
December was a month full of ice hockey, with the entire country celebrating the 75th anniversary of Russian ice hockey. In accordance with the celebration, we held special matches with our veterans and a Hockey Marathon which included games across the nation from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka.
In Moscow, the Channel One Cup was a true celebration of ice hockey, especially taking into account that we managed to fill the stadium to 70% of its capacity. Fans witnessed exciting, entertaining ice hockey of the highest level, and it's worth pointing out that the competition attracted a record amount of television viewers!
I am happy that in the 75th year of the sport in our country, ice hockey is at the centre of attention for millions of Russian citizens. Our partners are satisfied with the level of interest and consequently saw the effectiveness of cooperation with the Russian national team. I'm confident that we will continue working together concerning the development and promotion of ice hockey in our country. I would like to thank Channel One for its contribution to the promotion of ice hockey in Russia, broadcasts of the competition games are always held at the highest level. It's vital that the entire country has the possibility to watch our home stage of the Euro Hockey Tour live on television.
The Olympic Games will soon be held in China in February. This time, NHL players cannot participate in the tournament, and our management group has the task of successfully defending the title. This is something which must be achieved! Hopefully, we will be able to claim the gold medal in Beijing.
Sadly, due to rising coronavirus cases, the 2022 World Junior Championship in Canada has been cancelled. Naturally, our players were left feeling disappointed by this decision. Nevertheless, the International Ice Hockey Federation is planning to subsequently stage the competition in June 2022.
Happy New Year, everyone! Let 2022 be full of memorable, positive moments and good health!
