A special badge in honour of Russian ice hockey's 75th anniversary
02.09.2021
The 2021/2022 campaign marks 75 years of Russian ice hockey, with the maiden first USSR championship having been played in 1946.
The 75th anniversary is an important milestone for the entire vertical of Russian ice hockey, from academies to professional clubs. Over these 75 years, ice hockey has become the national sport in Russia, with our national team having earned plenty of memorable triumphs at the Olympic Games and World Championship.
In honour of the anniversary, not only the Russian national hockey teams, but also KHL, VHL, WHL, MHL, NMHL clubs and sides representing children's sporting schools will play with a special badge on their jerseys.
Furthermore, referees will also sport the badge.
The badge was seen in action for the first time at the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup this summer in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, a tournament which our under 18 national team won for the second consecutive season and on the fifth occasion in history.
