The senior Russian women's national team will compete against Japan in the fifth-place playoff of the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship.
In the first round of the classification round, our players managed to edge past Germany 3:2, while the Japanese defeated the Czech Republic by the same score.
The winner of this match will earn fifth position at the competition.
In the quarter-finals, these two teams came up short against Switzerland (2:3 OT) and the USA (2:10) respectively.
