Reaction after playing the Czech Republic on the road

15.05.2021
The head coach of the senior Russian national team, Valeri Bragin, spoke to the media following the concluding match of the 2020/2021 Euro Hockey Tour against the Czech Republic (0:4):

Head coach Valeri Bragin:

- It was a good, competitive match, the World Championship will be like this. We played well, but our finishing in front of goal let us down. Our tactics worked in the first and second periods, however, we couldn't take advantage of our opportunities. It's great that we managed to win 10 consecutive Euro Hockey Tour games this season, we've prepared well for the World Championship.

- How is Evgeny Timkin?

- It's hard to say, the puck hit him in a unprotected part of his body. He has a big bruise, but hopefully it's nothing serious.

- What did you make of Mikhail Grigorenko's performance?

- Taking into account that he hadn't played for a week, he did well at times. We tried him out both in the centre and on the wings. Dmitry Voronkov's line with CSKA Moscow players? I think that we will keep them together in one line for the time being, they created good opportunities.

- Who will be the starting goalkeeper at the World Championship?

- We are planning to leave spaces on the roster for one goalkeeper and one forward. We will see how the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs go. The final squad? It will soon become clear.
