Euro Hockey Tour. Czech Republic - Russia - 4:0

15.05.2021
The senior Russian national team came up short in the concluding match of the 2020/2021 Euro Hockey Tour, conceding a 0:4 defeat to the Czech Republic on the road in Prague.

Filip Zadina opened the scoring in the 11th minute, before Jiri Sekac doubled the Czech advantage in the first minute of the second period with a penalty shot after he had been fouled when clean through. Midway through the second frame, Jakub Flek tallied the third marker for the hosts, a goal which resulted in Russian head coach Valeri Bragin swapping goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov for Alexander Samonov.

That change didn't have the desired effect, though, as Tomas Zahorna subsequently grabbed a fourth for the home team in the 41st minute to secure the victory for the Czechs.

Russia will next play in the first match of the 2021 IIHF World Championship in Latvia on May 21 against the same opponents.
