Reaction after beating Sweden in the Euro Hockey Tour

12.05.2021
Following the first match of the fourth stage of the 2020/2021 Euro Hockey Tour against Sweden (6:4), senior Russian national team head coach Valeri Bragin, defenseman Igor Ozhiganov and forward Vladislav Kamenev all shared their opinions:

Head coach Valeri Bragin:

- In comparison to our previous matches recently, the pace was a lot higher today. We played with concentration for 40 minutes, but we lost it after going 5:2 up. Nevertheless, our focus returned during the closing stages. Our goalkeeping issue? We will make a decision concerning the first choice for the World Championship following the completion of the Euro Hockey Tour. We will analyse our defensive mistakes in this game, but we did attack well. Konstantin Shafranov? I have known him for a long time, he's a positive person and will make our powerplay stronger. In which position will Mikhail Grigorenko play? We will see.

Defenseman Igor Ozhiganov:

- My goal? Artyom Shvets-Rogovoi found me with a clever pass, and I simply did the rest. The coaches are allowing me to join the rush regularly and compete on the powerplay, they are certainly my strengths. Of course, it's good that we won today, but we did concede too many goals. I have a lot of motivation to play at the World Championship!

Forward Vladislav Kamenev:

- I am pleased with the first goal which I scored. To be honest, I almost lost the puck a couple of times during that play, but in the end I sent it into the net well with the backhand. My line with Artyom Shvets-Rogovoi and Evgeny Timkin? We played really well during the 2020/2021 KHL Gagarin Cup playoffs for SKA Saint Petersburg, we understand each other.
