Euro Hockey Challenge. Russia - Belarus. A statistical look

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation takes a statistical look at the first 2020/2021 Euro Hockey Challenge duel between Russia and Belarus (6:3) at the VTB Arena in Moscow:
- The senior Russian national team claimed its 25th victory in 39 Euro Hockey Challenge matches;
- Russia's streak of not conceding a goal against Belarus ended after 226 minutes and 36 seconds. The streak had initially started in 2014, with our team subsequently earning a shutout at the World Championship in 2015 and 2018, and also in a friendly match in early 2018 which was held in preparation for the Olympic Games;
- This marked the first game in which Russia scored six goals against Belarus during one single period;
- Goalkeeper Alexander Samonov made his 10th appearance for the senior national team. In those matches, he has earned four regulation victories and two in a penalty shootout;
- Forward Vladislav Tsitsyura tallied an assist on his debut for the senior national team;
- Fellow forwards Vladislav Kamenev and Yegor Korshkov scored their maiden goals for the senior national team. It took Vladislav three games to achieve this, while Yegor required 11 matches;
- Forwards Kirill Marchenko and Emil Galimov registered their first assists for the national team at senior international level;
- In all four of his matches for the national team this season, forward Andrei Kuzmenko has scored one goal;
- In his 23th Euro Hockey Challenge match, forward Vadim Shipachyov picked up his 15th (10+5) point. He boasts more points in the competition than any other Russian player.
