Reaction after beating Kazakhstan-2 on the road
13.02.2021
Following the 3:2 overtime triumph over Kazakhstan-2 at the 2021 Kazakhstan Hockey Open in Nur-Sultan, Russian Olympic national team head coach Oleg Bratash and forward Vasily Glotov both shared their emotions:
Head coach Oleg Bratash:
- It was a good match, we knew that the opponents would be full of motivation. For us, it was difficult after playing two matches in two consecutive days before this game, we didn't even have 24 hours to recover after the previous match against Kazakhstan. Nevertheless, the players' attitude, commitment and desire certainly deserve credit, they tried their best even if they lacked freshness today. The game went to overtime because we weren't fresh enough in the attacking zone with our opportunities to score goals.
Forward Vasily Glotov:
- It was a positive competition for us, after all we did win two out of three matches. We will now travel home in a good mood after winning this game today. Yes, of course we wanted to win all three games, but we conceded a disappointing defeat yesterday. My winning goal? I received the puck from Rafael Bikmullin, and I then anaged to skate past my opponents and beat the goalkeeper when clean through.
