RIHF statement concerning the possible host locations of the World Championship

20.11.2020
This week, there have been a number of rumours concerning the possibility of changing the location of the 2021 IIHF World Championship away from Belarus. The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) would like to point out that such decisions are only made by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). At this moment in time, no decision to take the tournament away from Belarus has been made.

The RIHF is working in accordance with the IIHF's plans. As it stands, the RIHF has not received any notification from the IIHF with regard to staging the 2021 World Championship. If such a notification does subsequently arrive, the RIHF will analyse the possibility of hosting the tournament.

The RIHF asks everyone to only believe news about the World Championship provided by the IIHF.
