Karjala Cup. Sweden - Russia

The senior Russian national team will take on Sweden in the second match of the 2020/2021 Euro Hockey Tour in Helsinki, Finland on October 7.

In the first game of the Karjala Cup, Russia produced a strong performance against the Finns, emerging victorious by a score of 6:2 with Rodion Amirov, Marat Khusnutdinov, Ilya Safonov, Daniil Chayka, Yegor Chinakhov and Yegor Afanasyev all striking gold. Goalkeeper Yaroslav Askarov stopped 17 of the 19 Finnish shots he faced.

As for their part, the Swedes came up short against the Czech Republic, conceding a 1:3 defeat.

Puck drop at the Hartwall Arena is scheduled for 14:30 Moscow time. Match TV will provide a live television broadcast in Russia.
