Yury Lyapakin received a state honour for his work in the field of physical culture

By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated 05.11.2020 No. 675 concerning achievements in the field of physical culture and sport, Olympic champion and four-time world champion Yury Lyapkin received the "Honourary Physical Culture Worker of the Russian Federation" title.

Yury won the Olympic Games in 1976 and the World Championship in 1971, 1973, 1974 and 1975. He scored 126 goals across 437 appearances at the Olympics and World Championships combined.
