A master class concerning special ice hockey will take place in Moscow on September 26.
Special ice hockey is being developed by the Children's Sledge Hockey League. Children and adults of any age with down's syndrome, autistic spectrum disorders and other mental difficulties are training with special ice hockey teams, with the sessions adapted to everyone's needs. Instead of sporting results, the aspect is on teamwork and social experience.
The Children's Sledge Hockey League has invited children and adults of any ability to attend the master class, which will be run by Oksana Chistyakova who is a coach of the HC Atlant Mytishchi women's team and a coach of Russia's first special ice hockey team. The master class will be supported by the Moscow Government.
The specialities of special ice hockey is to give players the opportunity to play their favourite sport which is adapted to their respective needs. The players will compete on ice skates and the rules will largely be the same as normal ice hockey.
The master class is scheduled for September 26 in Moscow at this following address: Novostapovskaya Ulitsa, 5-2, Morozov Ice Arena, pitch 3. It will begin at 14:30 and end at 15:45. You can find out more information by calling this following number: 8-985-127-90-57.
The development of children's ice hockey, including ice hockey which is adapted to people's needs, is one of the priorities of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation. The Children's Sledge Hockey League is the Russian Ice Hockey Federation's main partner in this area, which currently contains 25 teams from 20 different regions of Russia.
