The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) and Nornickel held a second seminar for coaches and referees in Norilsk.

It took place in accordance with the partnership agreement between the RIHF and Nornickel.

Referees and coaches from Norilsk and the Pechengskiy district of Murmansk Region participated in the seminar. A series of seminars were held concerning the improvement of ice hockey coaches and referees, with RIHF specialists analysing video footage of incidents during matches. They also organised practical sessions on the ice.

Matters concerning the training methods for young players were also discussed. On January 22, a master-class was held at the Arktik Ice Arena for young players under the guidance of Olympic champion, four-time world champion and honoured USSR Master of Sport Sergei Babinov.

"The guys really enjoyed the event," remarked Babinov. "We looked at stick handling and skating techniques, and it's great that the Red Machine National Development Program is developing while being rolled out across the whole country."

The seminar and master-class were organised in accordance with the Red Machine National Development Program. Nornickel was the general partner of the event.
