In the final of the 2020 Youth Olympic Games, the under 16 Russian national team defeated the USA 4:0 in Switzerland, in turn winning the gold medal.

This is the first time in history when Russia are the reigning champions of both the senior and youth Olympic Games at the same time.

In the opening period of play, Matvey Michkov struck twice for our team, before Ruslan Gazizov and Vyacheslav Malov increased the advantage to four in the remaining two frames.

Goalkeeper Sergei Ivanov stopped all 15 American shots he faced.
