Reaction after playing against Canada at the World Junior Championship

Valery Bragin, Amir Miftakhov and Yegor Sokolov all shared their opinions after Russia defeated Canada 6:0 at the 2020 World Junior Championship in the Czech Republic.

Head coach Valery Bragin:

- It was a group stage match. Yes, the result is good, but the main thing is the quality of our performance. I am satisfied. However, we need to improve our play, especially on the powerplay. We celebrated for five minutes, but now we need to prepare for the match against the USA. Did the Canadians give up? They tried to get back into the game during the first half of the third period.

Goalkeeper Amir Miftakhov:

- It's nice that we won, and it isn't that important that I tallied a clean sheet, the result is the most important thing. The entire team deserves credit. We did hear that this is our biggest win against Canada at the World Junior Championship, but in the dressing room, we spoke about playing as if the score was 0:0. Thank you to our fans inside the stadium, we heard them throughout the match. They supported us well.

Forward Yegor Sokolov:

- It's nice to win, but this is only the start of the competition. We have two important games coming up against the USA and Germany. We played our style of ice hockey. We will continue improving with each passing match.
