Valery Bragin: "We have called up the players in best form"

04.12.2019
Head coach of the under 20 Russian national team, Valery Bragin, spoke about the squad selections for the upcoming 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship:

- Asides from the Super Series and the recent Four Nations, we also looked back at the Black Sea Cup and the tournament in Perm. We have called up the players who are in the best form. There are a lot of guys who play their ice hockey in Russia, and this shows that the system is working - we want to keep our players in the country. On December 10, we will begin training in Novogorsk, before we fully form the squad after friendly games against the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Is it an advantage that the World Championship is being played in Europe? It means that we don't have to adapt to the time difference.
