Valery Bragin and Yegor Zamula speak about the fifth match of the Super Series
14.11.2019
Following the fifth match of the 2019 CIBC Canada Russia Series, under 20 Russian national team head coach Valery Bragin and defenseman Yegor Zamula both spoke to the press.
Russia U20 head coach Valery Bragin:
- It was evident that we lacked energy in the concluding moments of the game. Overall, we did have good opportunities today, but we couldn't take advantage of them - one goal isn't enough to win. I am satisfied with the quality of our performance, but we didn't have enough energy against a fresh opponent. We were travelling all day yesterday. We now need to win in regulation time tomorrow.
Russia U20 defenseman Yegor Zamula:
- This was my first appearance for the under 20 national team. This is a great group of guys and the coaches are excellent. I was nervous in my first two shifts, and it was also tricky adapting to the new tactics - we have a very different approach to the one which the North Americans use. It was a good game, but we lost. I thought that there would be more goals in this match. Yes, it is a real shame to lose, but it's better to suffer defeats now rather than at the World Championship. The most important game of the series will take place tomorrow. In order to win, we need to play with more physicality.
