Hlinka/Gretzky Cup. Russia U18 - USA U18 - 6:2

In the opening match of the 2019 Hlinka/Gretzky Cup, the under 18 Russian national team made a statement of their intentions, thrashing the USA 6:2 with an impressive performance.

During the first period, the Americans struck twice to take a 2:0 lead, but Russia began dominating proceedings in the second.

Alexander Pashin (2), Pavel Tyutnev and Bogdan Trineev all scored to suddenly give the Russians a 4:2 advantage.

Nikita Buruyanov then made it five in the third frame, and after the USA pulled their goaltender, Daniil Gushchin scored into the empty net to complete the 6:2 triumph!

The second match will take place on Tuesday against Sweden at 16:30 Moscow time.
