Head coach of the Russian national team, Ilya Vorobyov, spoke about the upcoming 2019 IIHF World Championship quarter-final against the USA on Thursday.
- Today, we registered Artyom Zub for competition action, so our roster is now full. We have been following our plan. The Americans? They have a strong squad with good players. However, we have to play our style of ice hockey. Their best player? The guy with number 88 on his back is good. Do Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeny Malkin and Kirill Kaprizov feel better after scoring their first goals? Yes, I think so, but the main thing is the team result and not who scores. I am pleased that we will remain in Bratislava, I didn't want to spend five hours travelling to Kosice on the train. A few years ago, we had to travel to Paris from Cologne, and it wasn't great. We are preparing as we usually do.
