Ilya Vorobyov: "Both teams played in a physical manner"

18.05.2019
Head coach of the senior Russian national team, Ilya Vorobyov, shared his opinions about the 3:1 victory against Latvia at the 2019 IIHF World Championship:

- We expected it to be a physical game, and both teams played in this manner. Latvia were fighting for their lives and to qualify for the knockout stage. In the first period, we hit the post on a regular basis. We only played in the second stanza? In the first frame, we led 15-5 in terms of shots on target, and we were denied by the pipe five or six times. We think that we were playing. I don't want to discuss the refereeing. We would like to take less penalties, and I think all coaches want this.
