Evgeny Malkin speaks about the upcoming match against Latvia

17.05.2019
Russian national team forward, Evgeny Malkin, spoke about the 2019 IIHF World Championship match against Latvia on Saturday:
- The schedule in the NHL is similar to the one at this competition, you can play a few matches in a short space of time before having a long rest. The main thing is to balance your energy. In the NHL, we're used to playing at least 20 minutes per game. When the supporters are cheering you on, you don't think about how much strength you have left.
The coaches have told us to shoot more. We all support each other within the team. Kirill Kaprizov? Alexander Barabanov is playing well, but I think he will have his say at this competition. We know how talented he is. Sweden? I'm focused on Latvia at the moment. Mikhail Grigorenko is a great defensive forward who competes on the penalty kill. Ilya Kovalchuk? He is more focused on scoring. They are different players.
