Ivan Telegin: "It was worth the wait to be included in the squad"

11.05.2019
After training in Bratislava, senior Russian national team forward Ivan Telegin shared his opinions ahead of playing Austria at the 2019 IIHF World Championship:

- Some of the other guys are still waiting to be included in the squad, but for me, it was certainly worth the wait. It's a big honour to compete on the ice with the world's best ice hockey players. I am happy to be in the team and I will emerge on the ice tomorrow. Was it difficult to watch the match against Norway from the stands? Of course it was. The fans would have found it tough too. We all want to help the team, and you become more nervous when watching. I think you know what my role within this team is. We have been watching the weaknesses of our opponents on the powerplay.
