Euro Hockey Challenge. Latvia - Russia

For the second time in as many days, Latvia will host Russia at the Arena Riga in the 2018/2019 Euro Hockey Challenge.

Yesterday, Latvia initially gained a 2:0 lead through Martins Dzierkals and Roberts Bukarts, but the Russians responded with Artyom Zub, Nail Yakupov, Anatoly Golyshev and Rushan Rafikov (empty net) scoring to secure an exciting 4:2 triumph.

Goalkeeper Alexander Georgiev, who plays for the New York Rangers in the NHL, stood between the Russian pipes. Bogdan Kiselevich and Ilya Kovalchuk, players which have only just arrived from the USA, participated in the match.

Puck drop is scheduled for 18:30 Moscow time. Match-Igra will broadcast live in Russia.
