Young sledge hockey players participated in the Russian national team's training session

On February 6, ahead of the upcoming third stage of the 2018/2019 Euro Hockey Tour, young sledge hockey players participated in the training session of the senior Russian national team in Novogorsk.

Players of the Children's Sledge Hockey League trained together with the senior Russian national team, learning new playing techniques, taking photos and receiving advice. Sporting director of the Children's Sledge Hockey League Anton Politov shared his emotions: "This was a huge event for the young sledge hockey players, they spoke to the senior national team players and coaches. They were given a lesson as to improve their quality. Thank you to the Russian Ice Hockey Federation for this opportunity."

Young sledge hockey goalkeeper Denis Ermoshkin was overjoyed to meet his heroes: "I am overcome with emotion! We trained with true professionals, Russian national team players. I spoke with Igor Bobkov who gave me some tips as to hold my glove. I even managed to save plenty of shots today!"

The development of youth sport, which includes sledge hockey, is one of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation's priorities. The organisation's main partner in this field is the Children's Sledge Hockey League, which is currently contested between teams from Berdsk, Krasnoyarsk, Ufa, Novosibirsk, Saratov, Cheboksary, Saint Petersburg, Odintsovo, Tula and Moscow.
