03.01.2019
In the quarter-finals of the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship, Russia proved too strong for Slovakia, prevailing with an emphatic 8:3 victory.

The Russians made an incredible start to proceedings. During a superb first period, our players scored four goals to practically put the match out of Slovakia's reach, with Grigory Denisenko, Stepan Starkov, Alexander Alexeev and Nikita Shashkov all scoring to give the team a 4:0 lead.

That increased to seven in the second, with Klim Kostin bagging a brace and Kirill Slepets getting on the scoreboard. After the Slovakians had scored early in the frame, Ilya Morozov reinstated the seven goal advantage, however the opponents did score twice in the dying moments.
