Friendly match. Russia U20 - USA U20 - 2:3

In Canada, the under 20 Russian national team fell to the USA, losing 2:3 in a friendly match in preparation for the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Alexander Alexeev handed Russia the lead in the first period, before Kirill Marchenko doubled the advantage in the second. Everything was seemingly going to plan for our players, but in a disappointing third frame, the Americans came roaring back with three goals from Jason Robertson, Oliver Wahlstrom and Jack Hughes scoring. The winning American goal was registered with a mere 28 seconds remaining on the clock. In a planned overtime period, the teams drew 0:0, before Russia U20 won the penalty shootout 4:3 Vitaly Kravtsov and Artyom Galimov (three goals) scoring

Russia U20 will now prepare to play Switzerland in the final warm-up game before the World Junior Championship begins on December 26.
