Reaction after winning the 2018 Luzern Cup

15.12.2018
Russian Olympic national team head coach Oleg Bratash, defenseman Artyom Zemchyonok and forward Vladimir Tkachyov shared their opinions on the decisive victory over Switzerland at the 2018 Luzern Cup.

Russian Olympic team head coach Oleg Bratash:

- With this game being a final, there was extra responsibility. It was important to see how the players coped with the situation. Switzerland have a strong team, they were the hosts so they had motivation to make their fans happy. The Swiss are also the finalists of the 2019 IIHF World Championship. We're satisfied with the performance, we were tactically strong, committed in defence and scored on our opportunities.

Russian Olympic team defenseman Artyom Zemchyonok:

- Despite the score, it was a tough game, the Swiss played excellently. They had a lot of goalscoring chances, but our goalkeeper pulled off big saves. Our fourth goal was particularly important. The main thing was to play well at neutral ice and on the counterattack.

Russian Olympic team forward Vladimir Tkachyov:

- The opponents are strong, but we capitalised on our opportunities. Good play at neutral ice allowed me to pick up the puck and charge clean through. We'll return to our respective clubs in a great mood.
