Valery Bragin and Alexander Romanov speak about the fourth CIBC Canada Russia Series

13.11.2018
After defeating Team OHL 4:0 in the 2018 Canada Russia Series, Russian junior national team head coach Valery Bragin and defenseman Alexander Romanov spoke with the media.

Russia U20 head coach Valery Bragin:

- This was a quality match on our part. I am satisfied with the players' commitment and how they followed the game plan. We were on the penalty kill a lot, but fortunately, we managed to hold out and scored on the powerplay. Pytor Kochetkov made the requried saves. We always want to win and the fifth match will be crucial in this series. Four players from the QMJHL will join us.

Russia U20 defenseman Alexander Romanov:

- In my opinion, we fulfilled the game plan, playing as Valery Bragin wanted. All of us gave everything and we didn't concede a single goal. My goal? I shot between two defensemen and the goalkeeper made a mistake. You could say that luck was on my side. Nevertheless, the main thing for me is that the team won and I helped the defence to keep a clean sheet. It's time for us to win this series! We have to prove that Russian ice hockey is stronger than the sport in Canada. We're prepared to continue fighting on the ice.
