20.08.2018
At the Novogorsk training complex, a seminar took place with coaches from the senior, junior, U18, U17, U16, Olympic, senior women's and U18 women's national team present.
During the seminar, a special video portal which has been created for national teams' coaches and players was presented. The portal holds information concerning tactics, physical and ice training, nutrition and video lessons from the Red Machine National Hockey Development Program. It will be completed with new exercises, video clips of matches and training sessions and statistics concerning each individual player which will help coaches follow their development. Every national team player will be added to the portal which will give them all necessary information for the training process, nutrition, personal statistics and much more.
Starting from the new season, national teams of all ages will follow a single training program. There will be separate training sessions for players for skating, individual physical conditioning plans and regular tests. National team candidates can prepare for their respective tournament which include World Championships and the Olympic Games during the entire season so that they are in optimal shape when it's time for an international competition.
RIHF first vice-president and leader of the national team's management group Roman Rotenberg:
- This video portal for coaches will make our job easier and more modern. With its help, we can assist the development of players in a more effective manner, while dynamically improving their quality. At this moment in time, we are taking the level of national team training up a notch. We're working with each individual player by teaching them tactics and making their physical conditioning better. A national team call-up should always raise a player's level and encourage them to be more motivated to develop here and play in Russia. Online, they will receive physical training recommendations and tips on nutrition so that they arrive in the national team in top shape.
