Ilya Vorobyov: "I was happy that we didn't give up"
28.04.2018
Russian national team interim head coach Ilya Vorobyov:
- These Euro Hockey Tour matches are more like training ahead of the World Championship. A lot of players have only just arrived here and they are in different shape. Does it worry me that Sweden have 13 NHL players? Today, I would say that we lost because of individual mistakes which we made. Here, at this level, the opponents punish you for the smallest of errors. Due to the schedule, the guys simply cannot play in all of the matches, so changes to the lines will be made for tomorrow's match against the Czech Republic. Ivan Telegin and Valery Nichushkin are still out injured. Artyom Anisimov is a bit tired at the moment, but we had a talk and he's ready. The World Championship matches against France, Austria and Belarus will also be like training sessions? No, we can't think like that. I am pleased that the team didn't give up and tried hard in the third period, some players impressed, while others disappointed.
