Interviews after the U18 victory against Belarus
15.04.2018
Russia U18 coach Kirill Alexeev:
- Our preparation for the World Championship is going to plan. In Novogorsk, we did everything which was required and we feel good in Chelyabinsk. Today, our movement was good but we need to take advantage of our goalscoring chances better. On Monday, we will play Sweden in a friendly match, we know the opponents well. We lost twice at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and the Five Nations, the Swedes are strong technically, but we will analyse them and try to win.
Russia U18 forward Ruslan Iskhakov:
- We wanted to score more goals. A lot of mistakes were made and we have to score more goals. Nevertheless, we all stuck to the game plan. I scored a great penalty shot today, and I copied an idea from Nikita Kucherov in the NHL last year. At training, I trained that penalty shot and today I managed to hit the target. Now, we will rest and train hard tomorrow ahead of the second match against Sweden. We will give 100%.
Russia U18 goalkeeper Daniil Isaev:
- It's great that I registered a shutout today, we will move on although some things need to be improved on. Overall, I am satisfied with my performance, but I didn't have a lot of saves to make. This is the World Championship, all opponents are strong and we have to be ready. There won't be any easy games. We all feel good before the tournament.
