Reaction after the Russian Olympic team's win against Germany

06.04.2018
Russian Olympic team coach Oleg Bratash:

- The guys had a good mentality for this match. Our emotions prevented us from capitalising on more chances. The first period was good, but I can't say that the second and third frames were bad. However, in the first, we should have scored more goals when playing with a large advantage. Pavel Kraskovsky's emotions? He's friends with Yegor Korshkov, he was sticking up for him. We will try to find a place for Denis Zerov in the team for the next match.

Russian Olympic team forward Artyom Ilenko:

- It was tough in the first period, we haven't played for a long time. Nevertheless, we have been training well in Novogorsk. Germany are a good team, it was an interesting game. My two goals? I'm happy, but it's down to my teammates. My first goal gave me confidence.

Russian Olympic team defenseman Nikita Tryamkin:

- The Germans have a good team. If in the first period we had an advantage, they were better than us for 5-7 minutes in the third frame. They didn't want to lose by a large score. Yes, their goalkeeper played well, but if we had been better with our opportunities, we would have scored 2-3 goals more. It's a shame that we didn't keep a clean sheet. We had a lot of emotions after missing ice hockey.

Russian Olympic team forward Dmitry Kagarlitsky:

- We started this game brilliantly, but then we slowed down slightly. We need to play 60 minutes well, not just 40 or 50. Tomorrow, we will try to play a lot better. We didn't score more goals because of the lack of matches, some of the guys have long finished their KHL seasons. I liked playing with Yegor Korshkov and Pavel Kraskovsky, they play together in Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
