The Russian reaction after the win against Denmark

02.01.2016

Andrei Svetlakov, Russian junior national team forward:

- We should have played the whole match like we did the third, with everyone crashing the net. Denmark sat back, we began to shoot more, and made less mistakes in our own zone. After conceding the third goal we didn't give up, we knew that we could not give this match away. This quarter-final will serve as a lesson before the semi-final, and with the coaches we will analyse our conceded goals and see how we need to play. Everything will be fine.

Pavel Kraskovsky, Russian junior national team forward:

- These emotions are incredible, I can't express them with words, there are so many emotions about the fact that we saved this game. I know that we are capable of big things, and we are a united team that is really close - I adore these guys already!

Artur Lauta, Russian junior national team forward:

- We spent practically the entire third period in Denmark's zone, we created a lot of chances but the puck didn't go in. I wouldn't say that this is just down to luck, we are to blame too - we needed to be more aggressive so that there would be a player in front of the net every time. After missing a lot of chances we spoke with the guys about this in the dressing room, however when we made it 2:2 we relaxed for a second. Nevertheless we kept on believing in ourselves until the end.

Alexander Dergachyov, Russian junior national team forward:

- It was a nervy match, Denmark performed well, they were a worthy opponent and we can see why they have been playing in the elite group for quite a long time. We were given a good kick at the beginning - when it was needed, only then did we start to play as we should have done right from the first period. We shot from all possible positions to make the puck go in.

- Did Denmark's third goal a cold shower for you?

- If I'm honest, it was a seriously cold shower. I was in shock when that goal went in, but we knew that we had to show our character. Our parents had come to watch us, we couldn't leave with nothing. We got together as one group, and luck went our way.

Vladislav Kamenev, Russian junior national team forward:

- Anyone could have scored being in my position. We believed in the victory, played for each other, and forced these four goals in. We couldn't score, but instead of long shots we scored off scrambles on the crease. We expected Denmark to perform this way, we were expecting a tough match.
