Russian and Latvian hockey legends played a friendly match in honour of Vladimir Yurzinov

In a special legends friendly match in honour of Vladimir Yurzinov's 75th birthday, Russian legends defeated Latvia 7:5 in Riga.

For Latvia, Russian national team coaches Oleg Znarok and Harijs Vitolins dressed up as well as other famous Latvian players. Russian hockey legends Alexander Yakushev, Alexei Morozov, Alexander Kharitonov, Andrei Kovalenko and Maxim Mikhailovsky all took part. Also, the RIHF's president Vladislav Tretyak was in attendance. Russia ended up coming out on top 7:5, and in the penalty shootout after the game Russia also won.

Vladimir Yurzinov is an important figure for Latvian hockey too, as he coached HC Dinamo Riga between 1980 and 1989. With him, Dinamo took their first silver medals of the USSR championship.
